You don't need a 2.6 bootparam server for that; I can't remember exactly when the "asking for $TERM" was introduced but I seem to remember it was 2.4, it definitely is in 2.5. Bootparams are a bit broken in that you always need to specify server:value for each parameter. The terminal type needs to be specified with: term=:sun (you can leave out the server name) Locale is set using a "sysid_config" bootparam entry which specifies a directory in which a file "sysidcfg" should be present with the following entry: system_locale= (also timezone=, and terminal=, can be specified there) >It looks to me like /sbin/bpgetfile requires a 2.6 bootparam server >(although I think the idea is terrific!) Nope, any 2.x version should work. Casper -- Expressed in this posting are my opinions. They are in no way related to opinions held by my employer, Sun Microsystems.
